No, you can’t store your holiday decorations in a row home attic, but that doesn’t stop heat from escaping up into the attic cavity during the winter or heat build-up and second floor discomfort during the summer. As seen here, row home attic cavities are almost always NOT properly sealed or insulated.

To ensure our row home customers achieve the desired benefits of attic insulation, before adding insulation, Mark Group seals all air bypasses within the attic cavity including the attic perimeter, chimney and plumbing stacks, interior wall top plates and recessed lighting cans.

One of the most common locations for air leakage is your bandjoist, the intersection of the top of your foundation walls and the bottom of your first floor subfloor. As part of a Row Home Upgrade Package, Mark Group seals and insulates the basement bandjoist with spray foam.
